It’s free, and hey, who doesn’t like free things? In any case, if you find yourself curious or just want to proof me wrong, do get this app from the Google Play Store. I can bet that if you use Locale to do it manually, you save a whole lot more than this app does in a few days, that I can assure you. There is absolutely no way that it saved that much battery life, and I am certainly sure that my WiFi and syncing never got controlled even the slightest bit, yet I’m on my own 3G connection throughout the entire time away from home.Įnough of that – what’s the conclusion of this app? I say, it’s one of those gimmicky apps that says it helps you save battery, but it doesn’t. Back to that earlier gauge thing which states that it tells me how much I saved in the last hours, I got this as my result : Well, well… it certainly is not doing its job pretty well despite taking up a few days to learn how I use my device. I purposely left the WiFi on for the whole day even when I’m out, just to see how well this app fares. It did not do what it promised to do – to control WiFi by location, and to turn it off if it randomly scans. I went out at about 8.30am, got home at about 3.00pm, then started to check back in a while ago, and this is the result I obtained. Facebook, web browsing, WhatsApp and basically cycle through these three apps alone, with occasional Google+ checking. I used my phone like I normally would when I’m out of the house. So since it needed some time to actually tell me results. Sure, it doesn’t really tell me anything, just a graphical gauge with no values at all or just some percentage on how much battery I saved. Despite having its simplicity, there are some of the things that I wish are a little more analytical such as the Bonus battery savings gauge. It definitely does look a whole lot more promising than any other apps, and the simplicity of the menus is definitely a plus, not to mention the unity of complicated menus now under one roof. Well after a few days, it finally learned how I use my device everyday and finally I went out this morning to give it a debut. ![]()
